How to Connect JBL Clip 4 to iPhone: Step by Step
With your Clip 4 powered OFF (power button is dark), run through this routine to connect it with your iPhone.
1. Visit the Home Screen on the iPhone
Firstly, at the lock screen, swipe up from the bottom to bring up the phone’s Home screen.
2. Find the Settings App
Then we find ours on the second page of the Home screen.
3. Bring up the Settings App
Thirdly, tap the Settings app icon.
The mobile device then displays the first page of its settings.

Then tap the Bluetooth item. Our Bluetooth screen then displays, similar to the following.
Note that our Bluetooth is running here. If yours is OFF, then move the switch item to the ON position.
Now since the speaker is currently OFF, it does not appear in the Bluetooth devices list. Also, we don’t see it since we have yet to pair this speaker with this iPhone.
5. Turn On your Speaker
Turn on this unit by quickly pressing its Power button. Find it on the left side of the speaker, closest to the top.
The speaker then boots and the status light starts glowing or flashing white.
The speaker then makes a rising pitch guitar strum sound.
But since the iPhone does not know about this speaker, the JBL Clip 4 will not pair with it automatically. The status lamp denotes this not-paired state by slow or quick flashing white.
6. Put your JBL Clip 4 into Bluetooth Pairing Mode
Now, to see your Clip 3 on your iPhone, place the speaker into pairing mode. So to do that, press the Pairing button. We also find this on the left side, just below the Power button.
The speaker then plays a single note guitar string pluck sound. and status lamp starts fast flashing white.

8. Next, Connect with your BT Speaker
Tap the listed speaker in the Other Devices section of the Bluetooth devices list.
Your iPhone then connects with the Clip (named “JBL Clip 4” in this scenario). The mobile device’s Bluetooth screen then changes to look something like the following.
