Further, do you have a favorite song by a specific artist?  Then ask Echo to play that song from Spotify as in the following examples.  The requests below make Echo play the song Fly Like an Eagle, from Spotify, by the Steve Miller Band.

Caution

You may leave out the artist name if no other song title, artist name, or playlist has the same name.  However, you must add the artist qualifier if there are more than one items in Spotify with the same name.  Otherwise, Echo may play the wrong song for you.  In the Fly Like an Eagle case though, she does play the Steve Miller version. That’s true, even though Spotify has versions from other artists such as Seal.

Caution

Now the name of the artist you want may also be a song title. E.g. The group name Middle of the Road for example, is also the title of a song by the Pretenders.  Here, Echo may play the wrong song when you ask for this.  So, to get rid of this confusion, add the “songs by” phrase to the above request. The next example illustrates.
