How Do I Know My JBL Speaker is Fully Charged

Here, we answer the typical question: How Do I Know My JBL Speaker is Fully Charged? That way you get maximum playing time from it when you take it outside. Most of these speakers have some sort of visual battery status meter that you can know with a glance, how full the battery is approximately. Unfortunately though, we know of no way to determine if the battery actually has full charge without using a charging adapter to charge the unit until it stops. At that point we presume that it is fully charged.

Now the JBL Speaker has a battery status bar, as we display in the following pictures.  This shows battery status, whether it’s draining or charging, or whether it’s critically low or not when discharging.

The gauge also shows charging progress. E.g. How full the battery is at a given time while charging. Plus, it gives an approximation of how much power percentage remains in the battery when discharging.  And finally, it does change color to red when the battery reaches near-dead state.

How Do I Know My JBL Speaker is Fully Charged: Step by Step

1. When the Battery Gauge is OFF

When you power down the speaker with no charger supplying power, this lamp, that also doubles as a pilot light, is dark.  Also, with the charger is feeding the Flip 6, this LED is also dark when the battery reaches full charge.

2. The Charging Indicator Shows Battery Recharging Progress

The status lamp lights up red (no flashing) during charging.  Here, a flashing white light is how to know that charging is indeed going on.  Indeed, the battery is not yet full as long as this lamp blinks white when charging.

3. Check Battery Status Using an AC Adapter

You can tell if the unit has full charge by connecting an AC adapter to it, and watching the status lamp.  With the JBL Speaker not running, If the lamp comes on red, and then goes out again within a minute or so, this is a good indication that the unit is full.
