As far as how long it will last per charge, you can get a rough idea of how much more the speaker will play before needing a recharge, by looking at the battery status gauge on the front of the speaker.
When the speaker is ON, the gauge tells you if the battery is on the verge of going dead. Now when the battery is full, the entire meter bar glows a solid white. As the battery charge depletes, the bar darkens, starting first at the far right, and progressing left. Then when the speaker gets critically low, the last blip on the meter starts flashing red.

Now when the speaker is new, and using a full power USB charger, the time it takes to fully charge the JBL Flip 5 is about 2.5 hours. And, the fully charged battery should last for around twelve hours of play time before dying.
How Long Does the JBL Flip 5 Battery Last Over Time ?
Typically, these batteries gradually lose their ability to charge. So a sign of a battery that is nearing the end of its useful life, is that it goes dead much faster than this, or takes too little or too much time to fully charge. So if you recharge your speaker once per week, you would expect its battery to last around ten years. If you recharge it four times per week, then the battery would last around two and a half years. Keep in mind though that environmental factors such as how warm the area is where you keep the speaker, can affect these numbers.
