How to Check Wonderboom 2 Charge

How to Check Wonderboom 2 Charge: Step by Step

1. First, Turn ON the Wonderboom 2

You won’t be able to read charge status unless the speaker is ON.

The Top of the Wonderboom 2. Showing the dark -Power- button.

To turn on the speaker, press and release the Power button.

The little lamp in that button should then come on, as shown next, and the speaker should make its startup sound.  If it does not, then the charge could be completely run out.

The glowing -Power- button, which you can read to check charge on the Wonderboom 2.

But as long as there’s some juice in the battery, the Wonderboom 2 should power up.  When it does, move on to the next step.

2. Press and Release the Volume UP and Volume DOWN Buttons to Continue with How to Check Wonderboom 2 Charge

Press and release the center areas of the Volume UP and Volume DOWN buttons at the same time.  Find these areas in the picture shown next.

The Volume UP(+) and Volume DOWN (-) buttons.

When you press these buttons together, the speaker makes one to four “blunk” sounds to tell you how much charge there is.  Four blunks means that the unit has between 75 and 100 percent charge.  Three blunks, between 50 and 75 percent charge.  Two blunks denotes that you have between 25 and 50 percent charge.  And finally, one blunk means between 0 and 25 percent.

Also, when the charge remaining gets critically low, the Power lamp starts flashing red.

Press these buttons any time the speaker is ON, to check how full the battery is.  The number of blunks you hear, lets you roughly guess how much time you have left to play the speaker, before it goes dead.  Since a fully charged Wonderboom 2 plays for roughly ten hours.  So four blunks means that the speaker has between 7.5 and 10 hours of play time left before it goes dead.  Three blunks means that it will play for another 5 to 7.5 hours.  Two blunks means between 2.5 and 5 hours of music time left.  And 1 blunk means that you’ll get between 0 and 2.5 more hours of play time.

3. When This Wonderboom Is New…

When the speaker is new, and using a full power USB charger, the Wonderboom 2 charge time is about 2.8 hours to reach a full charge.

And, the a full charge should last for around ten hours of play time before going dead.

A sign of a bad battery, is that it goes dead too fast, or takes too little or too much time to fully charge. So if you fully charge your speaker, but it only plays for under eight hours before dying, its battery may be bad, and unable to hold a full charge anymore.

The red light glowing steadily in the -Power- button.

If the Wonderboom 2 takes longer than three hours to completely recharge, this could also mean a failing battery.  It could mean too that the charger you’re using is not strong enough to recharge the speaker in the specified charge time of 2.8 hours.

Also, slow charging can happen because your charge cord is too thin.  So for best results, we suggest using a full-current USB cable (one that easily carries 2.1 amps).
