How to Pair Sony SRS XB41

Shows how to pair Sony SRS XB41 Extra Bass Bluetooth speaker with typical source devices. So these  include practically all tablets and phones of the Apple and Android platforms.

How to Pair Sony SRS XB41: Step by Step

Start with your SRS XB41 OFF and the power button dark. Then run through these directions to pair it to your source BT mobile device. We use here an iPad Air tablet for this demo.

1. Go to the Home Screen on your Source Device

Firstly, press the Home button to reveal the smart device’s Home screen.

2. Find the Settings App

So we find ours on the second page of the Home screen.

3. Bring up the Settings App

Thirdly, touch the Settings app icon.

The smart device then shows the first page of its settings.

4. Go to the Bluetooth Settings  Page to Continue with How to Pair Sony SRS XB41

Then the Bluetooth Settings screen displays as follows. Note that our Bluetooth is ON here. But since our Sony SRS XB41 is currently OFF, it cannot therefore be in Bluetooth pairing mode. So it does not appear in the Other Devices list. Also, we don’t see it since in the My Devices list because we’ve never linked this speaker with our mobile device before.

5. Turn On your Sony SRX XB41

Additionally, turn on the XB41 by quickly pressing and releasing its  Power  button.

The speaker then powers up, and its status lamp glows white, as we see in the next picture.

But since our iPad does not know about this speaker, the SRS XB41 will not pair with it automatically.

6. Put the XB41 into Pairing Mode

So to see your speaker on your device, place it into Bluetooth discovery / pairing mode. To do that, press the Pairing button. Then release it after a quarter second.

Note that this button also serves as the Power button on the XB41.

Then the speaker emits a rising pitch set of beeps. It also announces in a female voice, “Bluetooth pairing.”  Furthermore, the Bluetooth Status lamp begins blinking rapidly.
