How to Reset JBL Flip 6

Shows how to reset the JBL Flip 6 wireless speaker to return it to default factory settings.  Resetting erases any prior paired Bluetooth devices from its memory.  Deleting these stops it from connecting to any nearby devices afterwards.  Also, do the reset to get this speaker ready for sale or re gifting, or to fix pairing errors. Or, reset to stop it from linking with devices you no longer wish to use it with.

How to Reset JBL Flip 6: Step by Step

1. Turn on the Flip 6

Press and hold the Power button until it lights up.

Then, the Power button lights up along with the battery power scale, as shown next.  Here, since we’ve paired the speaker with BT devices before this, it does not enter pairing mode.  We know that because the Pairing button flashes slowly, rather than glowing solid or fast blinking.

2. Wait for the Power Up Sound

The 6 makes a rising rock guitar strum when it comes on.  It is then ready for reset.

3. Press the Volume UP and Play-Pause Buttons Together to Start the Reset Process

See the next picture to find the Play-Pause and UP Volume buttons.

Then after a short pause, the speaker shuts off.  All the lights go off, and it plays the power-down guitar.

4. Check that Reset Worked

Next, power on the Flip 6 again, as detailed in step 1 above.

Now this time, after reset, the speaker comes up in pairing mode, as we see next.  Note that the Bluetooth button blinks white to denote this.  When the   Bluetooth  button blinks, this means that the unit is unpaired.  Indeed, we expect it not to auto pair to anything after reset.

5. Done with How to Reset JBL Flip 6 !

Resetting is now complete.  You may now pack up the speaker for sale, or pair it again with your favorite BT devices.  The speaker will no longer automatically connect with any earlier paired in-range device.  To restore automatic BT pairing, manually pair the unit with a tablet or phone.  Then, any time that both speaker and that device have Bluetooth turned on, pairing with automatically occur once more.
