We explain how to shut down the JBL Flip 6 here. Now most speakers have a Power button that’s easy to find. Indeed, the Flip 6 is no exception, as we find its Power button on the side button panel.
We start this demo with the Flip 6 powered UP. You can turn it OFF whether or not it is currently pairing.
There’s also a status lamp inside the Power button. This light glows when the Flip 6 is ON.
Then it goes dark when the speaker shuts OFF.
How to Shut Down JBL Flip 6
To power down the Flip 6, press and release the Power button. Press it for a quarter second or so. Indeed, you needn’t hold it in for too long for the unit to see the press and shut itself down.
When the speaker shuts OFF, the status lamp darkens. Plus the unit plays an interesting falling guitar slide. Note when charging the Flip 6. As long as it is still charging, the battery gauge will glow still. It take 1 to 3 seconds for the whole shut down process to complete.
But pressing the Power button may not switch the unit OFF. So it could be that the Flip 5 is in service mode. So try connecting the charger and take it out of this mode if so. See our Power Button Not Working post for more details. Or you can try resetting the Flip 6 by following our Reset Procedure.
Now if the Flip 6 will not shut down, then it might be in service mode. So for details on how to exit that mode, please see our JBL Flip 6 Service Mode post.
