How to Sync JBL Wonderboom 1

This post shows how to sync the JBL Wonderboom 1 with common Bluetooth devices. So first, start with this speaker OFF (all dark LEDs). Then, follow along to sync it with most any source device.  So in this demo, we show how syncing works on our iPad Air mobile computer. But like procedures work for iPhones, iPods, and Android phones and tablets as well.

How to Sync JBL Wonderboom 1: Step by Step

1. Visit the Home Screen on your iPad Air

Firstly, press the Home button to get to the  Home   iPad page.

2. Find the iPad Settings App

We find ours on the second page of the  Home  screen on our tablet.

An iPad Home screen. Showing the -Settings- app.

3. Bring up the Settings App

Then, tap the Settings app icon.

Then the source device displays the first page of its  Settings  screen.

An iOS -Settings- screen with Bluetooth ON. Showing the -Bluetooth- item.

4. Go to the Bluetooth Settings Page to Continue with How to Sync JBL Wonderboom 1

Next, tap the  Bluetooth  item.

Then our  Bluetooth Settings screen appears. Note that the JBL Wonderboom 1 is currently OFF. So it does not show in either the  My Devices  or  Other Devices lists yet,  Why?  Because we’ve not yet synced it with this iPad before.  Furthermore, the speaker is not yet transmitting its BT connection info.

The -My Devices- list. Showing no JBL Wonderboom 1 present.

5. Turn On your JBL Wonderboom 1

Then, turn on the WB by quickly pressing its  Power  button.

The -Bluetooth- button.

When you press this Pairing button, the speaker makes a distinctive sound several times. Plus, a lamp in this button starts rapidly flashing white.

8. Sync with your JBL Wonderboom 1

Then tap the speaker in the  Other Devices  section of the  Bluetooth Devices  list.

Your iPad Air then syncs with the JBL Wonderboom 1 (appears as “WONDERBOOM” in this demo).

The  Bluetooth Settings  screen then changes to display something like the following.
