We explain how to turn on the Sony XB43 power bank Bluetooth speaker here. Now most speakers have a Power button that Sony prominently positions on the unit so it’s easy to see. Indeed, this speaker is no exception to this pattern, as we find its Power button in the top button panel, as the next picture shows.

There’s also a status lamp, just beneath the Power button, that begins glowing when the speaker powers up, as we point out below.

This lamp is dark when the speaker is OFF, as seen above.
And when the unit is running, this lamp lights up as we see next.

How to Turn On Sony XB43
To power up this speaker, press the Power button. Then release after a quarter second or so. Also, you needn’t hold it in for too long for the unit to see your press and then turn itself on.
When the speaker comes on, the status lamp starts glowing green, and the unit may or may not make a beep sound. It will sound a ding-don sort of beep pattern if it pairs to a nearby Bluetooth device. But if it pairs with nothing, then it makes no sound.
But if pressing the Power button does not turn on the speaker, or if the CHG light blinks orange, it could be that you need to charge your speaker.

So if the unit won’t come on, try connecting the included USB-C charger to it. Yes, you can indeed play the speaker as it charges.
Now with a charger supplying power, this speaker should always power on when you depress the Power button. If not, then the unit may not be getting any juice from the AC adapter. So check that the outlet feeding the power supply is live, that the adapter works, that the cable between it and the speaker is not damaged, and that the USB-C plug fully seats in the speaker’s DC input port.
But if after all these checks the speaker still does not turn on, then the unit itself may be bad. So in that case, get a new one.
