JBL Charge 2 Plus Factory Reset

Gives the JBL Charge 2 Plus factory reset directions, to return this Bluetooth speaker to default out-of-box settings. Resetting also wipes out any prior connected BT devices from its memory. So this stops the Charge 2 Plus from pairing to any nearby Bluetooth devices afterwards.

Also, you might reset to prepare this speaker for sale or re gifting. Or simply reset to stop it from pairing with devices you no longer wish it to auto connect with.

JBL Charge 2 Plus Factory Reset, Step by Step

1. Turn On the JBL Charge 2 Plus

Press and hold the Power button until that button lights up and the electronic blip sound plays.

The Power button appears in the next picture, as we point out there with the green arrow. It’s the first button on the left as you face the speaker’s buttons panel.

2. Wait for the Power Up Blip Sound

The 2 Plus then makes a quick low-to-high tone blip sound as it boots. It is then ready for reset once this little sound finishes.

Now it may or may not pair with a device automatically. Why? Because this depends on whether there are any in-range BT devices that know about this speaker. But whether it pairs or not, reset works the same way.

3. Press the Volume UP (+) and Phone Buttons Together

Find the Phone and UP Volume (+) buttons. The Phone button is the one that looks like, … what else, a telephone receiver. It is the last button on the right in the buttons panel. The Volume UP (+) button is just right of center in the buttons panel.

The Charge 2 Plus then enters factory reset. All lamps on it including the Pairing, and battery indicator gauge light momentarily. Then all go dark as the reset finishes.

Then after a short pause, the speaker powers OFF. Specifically, the Power lamp goes dark, and the unit makes the power-down high-low tone blip sound.

4. Check that the JBL Charge 2 Plus Factory Reset Did Indeed Happen

Next, power on the speaker again, as we detail in step 1 above.

Note that after reset, this speaker comes up in pairing mode, making the decreasing volume beep-beep-beep-beep sound.

When the Bluetooth button blinks white, the speaker currently has no pairing. Indeed, we expect it would NOT pair to anything after factory reset, even in-range devices.

5. Done with JBL Charge 2 Plus Factory Reset !

The reset routine is now complete. So you may safely sell or gift the speaker, or pair it again with your favorite wireless devices.

After factory reset, the speaker no longer automatically connects with any device. Thus, to restore auto pairing, first manually pair the 2 Plus with a source device. Then, whenever both speaker and that device are in range, auto pairing would happen once again.
