Outer Box Sides
The side of the original packaging gives more information about the speaker
Secondly, another box side gives key features of the Charge 3.
Then, yet another side of the box shows how to connect the JBL Charge 3 power bank speaker, in order to charge your phone.
Open Sesame! Unpacking the Speaker
Then right inside the box we find a cardboard clad foam protector with the Charge 3 name embossed on it.
Next, taking out that foam protector sheet.
Moreover, lifting off the foam protector reveals the JBL Charge 3 Bluetooth speaker, in a white foam shock absorbing bag.
So, we lift the bagged Charge 3 out of the box, as shown next.
Then, we find a piece of clear tape that secures this foam bag closed. So we peel that tape away to open the bag.
Here’s the JBL Charge 3 waterproof speaker, held in the hand, and removed from its protective foam bag.
Unpacking the AC Charger and Cable
Then, we find the AC adapter and cable box. It’s a long, thin black box, tucked near the back and inside of the main outer box.
Upon opening the adapter box, we find the orange AC power supply adapter along with a micro USB to A charging cable. It’s orange color matches that of the AC adapter.
Now to the pictures of the speaker itself, shot from numerous angels.
JBL Charge 3 Speaker Pics from Various Angles
Bottom of the JBL Charge 3
Unlike some of the other similar JBL speakers, the JBL Charge 3 features a rubber-like stand permanently attached to its bottom. This helps assure that the speaker does not roll off a table or down a hill during use.
Back of the JBL Charge 3
Next, we find the power and AUX port compartment, as shown next, pointed at by the blue arrow. Additionally, this compartment features a sealing door that is shown closed.
Top of the JBL Charge 3
Next, we have the top view of the JBL Charge 3, showing all its buttons. From left to right, we have the play pause button, Volume UP, NFC, Power, Volume DOWN, and Bluetooth Discovery Mode button.
The volume control buttons shown next.
Next, we show the button that throws the JBL Charge 3 into Bluetooth Discovery or Bluetooth Pairing mode.
USB Power Port Compartment
Then, we open the power ports door, exposing the two USB ports and the AUX in port. The large A type USB female connector connects the JBL Charge 3 to an external USB power source for charging its internal battery. The micro USB female port supplies power from the internal battery for powering or charging a mobile device like a cell phone or tablet computer.
The Power ON OFF Button
Then again looking at the control panel, the Charge 3 is turned off. The next picture shows the power button pointed at by the green arrow. It’s dark, meaning that the speaker is currently powered off.
Then, we powered the Charge 3 on but did not pair it with anything. In this case, the power button glows a solid white. No flashing or blinking. This means that the JBL Charge 3 is standing by, waiting for pairing. It also indicates that the speaker is ready to play audio piped into its auxiliary (AUX) input jack.
The Bluetooth Pairing Button
Then, we show the Bluetooth discovery mode button on the JBL Charge 3. It’s located on the left side of the control panel buttons, on the top of the speaker. Press and release this button to place the JBL Charge 3 into discovery mode.
Speaker Now Paired, Power Button Glows Solid Blue
Next, we’ve powered on the JBL Charge 3 speaker and paired it with our iPad Air tablet. Note that the power button glows solid blue, which means that the speaker is currently paired and able to play audio streamed from the paired device.
Next, we point out the JBL Connect Plus (Connect+) button.
