An adequate JBL Charge 5 charger is a USB wall or car charger that supplies enough power to fully recharge this speaker in the least amount of time (around 4 hours). Note that currently, JBL does not include a USB charger with this speaker. So, you’ll need to either have one already or buy one.
Also, the speaker has a USB-C charging port. So be sure to have the right cable on hand, to connect the speaker to whatever charger you decide to use. Details follow.
Furthermore, the maximum current this speaker accepts is 3 amps, which gives the speediest charging performance. So to get that, be sure to use a USB-C charger. Either use a USB-C to USB-C cord, or if you have a charger with a QC 3.0 USB-A port, then use a thicker USB-A to USB-C cable.
Which JBL Charge 5 Charger Works Best?
We’ve successfully charged our Charge 5 speaker with the AC adapters we list below. Note that some of these feature a USB A type female connector. So, you can use an AC adapter like these to connect your speaker if you wish to use the USB-C to USB-A cord that comes with the JBL Charge 5. Or, if your charger only has a USB-C output port, you’ll need to get a USB-C to USB-C cable.
