You can adjust the bass response of the JBL Flip 4 wireless speaker, by turning on and off its low frequency mode. Thus when ON, this mode makes the passive bass radiators vibrate a lot more. Further, low frequency mode adds a hefty extra bass quality to the content playing that you’ll hear at some distance from the speaker.
How to Toggle JBL Flip 4 Low Frequency Extra Bass Mode
First, by default, the Flip 4 has its bass mode turned on. This adds a bit of extra treble and lots of extra bass to the audio output, like switching on the Loudness control on vintage stereo systems.

How to Turn JBL Flip 4 Low Frequency Mode OFF, and then ON Again
You can turn this extreme bass mode off by pressing and holding in the Volume Down (-) and Bluetooth buttons for about ten seconds. Then, you hold these in until the Power and Connect+ buttons light up white, as shown in the next picture. Find these buttons near the top of the speaker, as shown in the picture above.

Also, to turn low frequency mode back on, again, press and hold the Volume Down and Bluetooth buttons in until the Power and Connect+ buttons light up again. Release the buttons when you see that.
Finally, when the buttons return to their prior states, low frequency mode is ON once again. If you had been paired with a BT device, the Power button turns blue again. And, if you hadn’t connected this speaker with others via Connect Plus, the Connect+ button then goes dark.
