Gives the JBL Go 1 factory reset directions. These return this small Bluetooth speaker to its default settings and state.  Plus, this routine wipes any earlier paired BT devices from the speaker’s memory. And this stops the Go 1 from pairing to any nearby Bluetooth devices afterwards. Also, you might factory reset to make this speaker ready or sale or re-gifting. Or to stop it from pairing with devices you no longer have interest in.

JBL Go 1 Factory Reset: Step by Step

1. Turn on the Speaker

Press and hold the Power button. Then release when the status lamp lights up and the guitar strum plays.

The -Power- button on the JBL Go 1.

Find the Power button, as shown in the last picture above.

Then, the status light comes on, as we see next.

2. Wait for the Power Up Guitar Sound

The speaker makes a rising electric guitar strum sound when it boots.

Then, the JBL Go 1  is ready for use when this sound finishes.

Now this speaker may or may not pair with a device. What it does depends on whether there are any in-range devices that know about this speaker.  But whether paired or not, the reset works the same, as follows.

3. Press the Volume UP and Bluetooth Buttons Together

Find the Pairing and UP Volume buttons.  The Pairing button is on the top panel, second button in from the left.  Also the Volume UP button is two buttons to its right.

The -Pairing- and -Volume UP- buttons.

The speaker then enters factory reset.

Next, within a second or two, the unit powers off after reset finishes.  Signs when the speaker shuts off. These include the falling guitar strum, and the status lamp going dark.

4. Check that JBL Go 1 Factory Reset Did Indeed Work

Next, switch on the speaker again, as explained in step 1 above.

Note that after factory reset, the speaker comes up in ready-to-pair mode, with the status lamp rapidly blinking blue.

5. Done !

The reset of the JBL Go 1 speaker is now complete. Thus you may gift or sell it, or pair it again with your favorite Bluetooth devices.

After factory reset, the speaker no longer automatically connects with any device. Thus, to re establish auto pairing, first manually pair the Go 1 with some device. Then when both the Go 1 and that device have Bluetooth running, auto pairing happens again.
