JBL Go 2 Charging Time: How Long it Lasts on a Full Recharge

After complete charging, the JBL Go 2 speaker can play for up to five (5) hours, due to its 730 MaH, 3.7 volt lithium ion polymer battery.  But when you play it loudly, especially with extra bass, you will notice somewhat shorter lasting.

We’ve seen this speaker run dead in around four hours when played at higher volumes. So to get the most play time from it, power saving is key.  Just play it only as loudly as you need to, to hear it well throughout your listening space.

The Play Time Shrinks As the JBL Go 2 Ages

If you own this speaker over a few to several years, you may notice that the time it plays from a single charge shortens as the speaker gets older.  This is normal for devices like this one, that rely on lithium ion batteries.

But by exercising the battery, you can slow this charging fall off.

To exercise the JBL Go 2, fully discharge the battery, and charge it again every three to six months when not in use.

Also, we suggest that you not leave the speaker plugged into a charger once it has finished charging.  Right after the charging lamps completely go out, disconnect the speaker as soon as you can. This avoids overcharging it and damaging the battery.
