Covers the JBL Go 3 mini Bluetooth speaker firmware update instructions. However, we know of no way to upgrade the software on this particular speaker. Why not? Because we find no firmware downloads for this unit on the JBL web site. Plus, we find no details for this in the included manuals.
So it’s likely that JBL feels that the speaker works well enough with the original firmware. Thus they do not offer a (perhaps) confusing and complicated update procedure for such a modestly priced speaker.
Furthermore, in our tests, the speaker is still very reliable. E.g. We see no bugs, lost connections, distortion, or any other undesirable behaviors. Therefore firmware updating is likely unnecessary. Plus, as far as we can tell, this is impossible for the average consumer to perform.
Finally, a no-update option makes this speaker even simpler to use and enjoy. Indeed it’s nice to see a speaker that works very well, right out of the box. And it will likely never need any updates to fix problems. So if that’s the sort of worry-free operation you’re looking for, then the JBL Go 3 is certainly for you.
