So it’s likely that JBL feels that the speaker works well enough with the original firmware. Thus they do not offer a (perhaps) confusing and complicated update procedure for such a low cost speaker.
Moreover, in our tests, the speaker is still quite reliable. E.g. We experience no bugs, lost connections, distortion, or any other unwanted behaviors. Therefore firmware updating is likely unnecessary. Thus, as far as we can tell, updating this speaker is impossible for the average consumer to perform.
Finally, a no-update option makes this speaker even simpler to use and enjoy. Indeed it’s nice to see a speaker that works well, right out of the box, and will likely never need any updates to fix problems. So if that’s the sort of worry-free operation you’re looking for in a Bluetooth speaker, then the JBL Go 3 is certainly for you. It’s a virtual zero-maintenance unit.
