Explains the pair UE Wonderboom together routine. Then two of them play the same audio from the same source device. In this scenario, we use one UE Wonderboom 1, and one UE Wonderboom 2. But you can also pair two UE Wonderboom 1’s, two UE Wonderboom 2’s.
Pair UE Wonderboom Together: Step by Step
1. Power Up Both UE Wonderbooms
Press and release the Power button on the first one, and await the power-ON sound.
Then, press and release the Power button on the second UE Wonderboom, and again, wait for it to come on.
2. Pair the First UE Wonderboom with a Source Device
In this demo, we’ll first pair the UE Wonderboom 1 with our iPad Air tablet. If you’re not sure how to do this, then see our How to Pair UE Wonderboom Speaker post for details.
3. Press and Release the Play / Pause Button on the First UE Wonderboom
Next, press the middle (Play / Pause) area of the UE Wonderboom you just paired. Then hold in until that speaker makes a connect sound and the pairing lamp starts quick-flashing. Here, the first UE Wonderboom is the original one.
4. Press the Play / Pause Button on the 2nd UE Wonderboom
Next, press and release the middle area of the second speaker. In this case, ours is the second version of the UE Wonderboom (Wonderboom 2).
Then we get a ready-to-pair sound. Also the pairing light just above the center button blinks briefly. Then once this speaker links with the first UE Wonderboom, the pairing lamp starts glowing steadily.
5. Done with Pair UE Wonderboom Together !
Your two UE Wonderbooms now share a connection with the same source device. Thus, when you play audio on that device, you’ll now hear it through both UE Wonderboom speakers.
Note that each UE Wonderboom provides stereo sound, even when you pair two of them together. So each speaker plays in stereo whether or not it pairs to another UE Wonderboom. Thus it’s not the case that the first UE Wonderboom plays the left channel and the second plays the right. Both UE Wonderbooms play both channels, in stereo, in fact.
Breaking This Pairing
To break the link between UE Wonderboom units, simply power down the second one. After that, the first one (the UE Wonderboom that you connected with your source device) keeps playing.
Or, powering down the first one will also break the pairing between it and the second speaker. Thus the second one stops playing. But this also breaks the link with the source device. So shutting OFF the first UE Wonderboom stops BOTH from playing. But the second one will still be ON until you turn it OFF, even though it’s playing nothing.
