These reset UE Roll directions show how to return the unit to its default settings. Resetting clears any earlier paired Bluetooth devices from its memory. Also, reset to get the unit ready for sale or re gifting. This also works to stop it from pairing with devices you no longer use.
Reset UE Roll: Step by Step
1. Power ON the UE Roll
Press the Power button on the back of the Roll. Hold in until the power lamp lights up and the bongo sound plays.
Find the Power button, as shown in the last picture.
Then, the status light comes on, as shown next.
2. Wait for the Bongo Sound
The speaker makes a soft bongo strike sound when it powers up. The UE Roll is ready to use after this sound ends. It may or may not pair with a device. That depending on whether there are any in-range devices that know about the Roll. Whether or not a connection is active, the reset works as follows.
3. Press the Volume DOWN and Power Buttons Together
The Power button is on the speaker back, and the Volume DOWN button is on the front. See these highlighted in the next two pictures.
The UE Roll then enters factory reset. The Bluetooth lamp starts fast blinking white. This means that the speaker has forgotten saved Bluetooth connections in memory and has unpaired from any paired devices. Connections in progress end at this time as well.
Then after a short pause, the Roll shuts down. Both the power and Bluetooth lamps go dark. See both dark lamps in the next picture. The Roll also makes make the power-down sound.
4. Check that your UE Roll Speaker Did Indeed Reset
Next, turn ON the Roll again, as described in step 1 above.
Note that after reset, the speaker comes up in discovery mode. This speaker does that automatically. So, no need to press the Bluetooth button to pair at this time.
5. Done with Reset UE Roll Speaker Instructions !
The reset is now complete. So you may now sell or gift it, or pair it again with your favorite Bluetooth devices.
Note that after reset, the speaker no longer automatically connects with previously paired devices. Thus, to restore that, manually pair it with a device. Then after that, any time that both speaker and device have Bluetooth turned on, auto pairing would happen again.
