Sony SRS X5 Charging Instructions

This piece covers Sony SRS X5 Bluetooth brick style speaker charging instructions. Do this easily through the DC power in port, shown in the pictures below. Note that you can still play your X5 as it charges, without increasing the recharge time by much, as long as your charger is “hefty” enough.

Sony SRS X5 Charging Instructions, Summary

So to that end, pick a strong enough AC power adapter. We suggest using the one that comes with this speaker from Sony.

Then, insert the barrel end of the cord into the speaker and plug the charger into a working AC outlet.

Finally, after four (4) hours or so, your X5 finishes recharging.  So it’s ready to play once more for up to eight (8) hours before needing another recharge.

Sony SRS X5 Charging Instructions, Step by Step

1. Choose Correct Size AC or Car Adapter

The charger you use should provide 12.5 volts and at least 2.5 amps (31.25 watts). Here, we use the Sony AC-S125V25A charger, Now as mentioned, this speaker needs roughly two and a half amps current to recharge fully in the shortest time.  So this charger supplies the right amount of power for this job.

5. Let the SRS X5 Charge Until the Orange CHARGE Light Goes Dark

Full battery charging is complete when the solid glowing lamp turns off.
