How to Tell if UE Wonderboom is Charging

How to tell if UE Wonderboom is charging?  This Logitech Bluetooth speaker with built in hanger loop has a two-color LED lamp on its top, in the Power button, as shown in the pictures next.  This light not only gives speaker power OFF ON and pairing status, but also tells battery level (whether it’s near dead or not) and charging status.  To see if the Wonderboom is charging,  check this light.  We show how to read it next.

How to Tell if UE Wonderboom is Charging

Connect your Wonderboom to USB Power

Of course, you can rest with certitude that this UE is NOT charging with no charging cable plugged in.

Check the  Status / Power LED on Speaker Top

Whether this Ultimate Ears speaker is powered OFF or ON, you can tell if the Wonderboom is charging if it is connected to a charger, and the power lamp is lit white, and slowly brightening and dimming in a pulsating pattern.

When not connected to a charger, this light glows steady  red  when the battery has about run entirely out of power.  It glows solid white otherwise when the speaker is powered ON.  It is OFF when the speaker is OFF.

Should the Wonderboom power lamp glow steady  red  with the power then the speaker is not charging.  So you might verify that your USB cable, adapter charger, and power source are in working order.  Try a new USB adapter or another charge cord.  You want this light to be blinking white  to know for sure that this UE is charging.

Now, the Wonderboom UE does not warm appreciably as it charges.  But you can feel charger adapters you run it with.  If the charger warms, then it is delivering substantial current to the Wonderboom.  Moderate charger heating is a near sure-fire way to tell if the UE Wonderboom is indeed charging.

As speaker charging nears completion, the status LED keeps flashing white.  But the Wonderboom gives no more of a granular reading of just how far along its recharging is.  The power lamp just indicates that charging is indeed going on.  See the  white  glowing lamp in the last picture, pointed at by the green arrow.

When the Power LED Goes Off or Turns Solid White, Charging is Done

The battery charge cycle is finished when the power LED changes from  pulsating white to either OFF or solid, as shown in the next two pictures.

Even with the charger cord still plugged in, and when the Wonderboom is powered down, this lamp stops glowing entirely when the internal battery is full, as shown next.  The Wonderboom UE no longer recharges when the battery reaches full charge condition.

UE Wonderboom speaker powered OFF, top view, showing the -Power- button circled. How to tell if UE Wonderboom is charging.

Finally, Unplug the UE Wonderboom and Turn it On

If the power LED glows solid white as pictured above, this could mean that it did indeed charge when linked to external power, particularly if the speaker was dead or near dead before you plugged it in.  But with the USB cable disconnected, we cannot know just by reading the power LED, just how much this UE speaker actually recharged, only that it did charge some. It probably did recharge to full though, as long as we waited until the light stopped blinking before disconnecting the charger.

Happy listening to your Wonderboom Logitech speaker!

How to Tell if JBL Clip 3 is Charging

How to tell if JBL Clip 3 is charging?  This Bluetooth speaker with built in carabiner has one two-color LED lamp on its top, in front of the carabiner, as shown in the pictures next.  This light not only gives speaker power OFF ON and pairing status, but also tells battery level (to a degree) and charging status.  To see if the Clip 3 is charging,  check out this lamp.  We explain how to understand it next.

How to Tell if JBL Clip 3 is Charging

Connect your Clip 3 to USB Power

Of course, you can rest assured that the Clip Three is NOT charging with no power cable plugged in.

Check the  Status / Power LED on Speaker Top, Right Under the Carabiner Clip

When the speaker is powered OFF, you can tell if the JBL Clip 3 is charging if this light glows steady red.   When the Clip 3 is powered ON while charging, the lamp either glows solid red,  or blinks white, depending on whether it’s paired with anything or now.  It flashes white when the speaker is not paired, and glows solid red when it is paired and charging.  This solid red glow occurs while charging, when the speaker is either powered on and paird, OR, powered OFF.

When not connected to a charger, this light blinks  red  when the battery has about run entirely out of power.

If the Clip 3 glows steady or flashing white or it flashes  red  with the power cord connected, then the speaker is not charging.  So you might verify that your USB cable, adapter charger, and power source are in working order.  Try a new USB power adapter or another cord.  You want this light either glowing solid  red to know for sure that the Clip 3 is charging.

Furthermore, the Clip 3 JBL  warms a smidge as it charges, as do most charger adapters you run it with.  This heating is a near sure-fire way to tell if the JBL Clip 3 is indeed charging.

As speaker charging advances toward finish, the status LED keeps glowing red.  But unlike some of the higher end JBL wireless speakers, the Clip 3 gives no reading of just how far along its recharging is, just that charging is in progress.  See the  red   glowing lamp in the last picture, pointed at by the green arrow.

When the LED Goes Out or Turns Solid or Flashing White, Charging is Done

The battery charge cycle is finished when the power LED changes from  red  to white, as well as going OFF altogether, as shown in the next two pictures.

It probably did recharge to full though, as long as we waited until the light stopped glowing  red  before disconnecting the charger.

How to Tell if JBL Clip 2 is Charging

How to tell if JBL Clip 2 is charging?  This hanging Bluetooth speaker has one multi-color LED lamp on its top, behind the clip, as shown in the pictures that follow.  This light shows speaker power ON OFF and pairing status. It also tells battery level and charging status.  To see if the Clip 2 is charging,  check out this light.  We explain how to interpret it next.

How to Tell if JBL Clip 2 is Charging

Connect your Clip to Mains Power

Of course, you can rest assured that the Clip Two is NOT charging with no power cord  connected.

Check the  Status / Power LED on Speaker Top, Behind the Clip

When the speaker is powered OFF, you can tell if the JBL Clip 2 is charging if this light glows steady red.   When the Clip 2 is powered ON while charging, the lamp either glows solid  purple,  or blinks blue and  purple, depending on whether it’s paired with anything or now.  It flashes when unpaired. It glows solid purple when paired.

When not charging, and the battery inside is low on power, and the Clip 2 is powered on, this light blinks  blue  and  purple.  or blue and red.  The colors you get depend on the speaker’s connection status.   You get  blue  and purple when the speaker is paired, and blue and   red   when it is not.

If the Clip 2 flashes or glows steady  blue  with the power cord connected, then the Clip 2 is not charging, and you need check your USB cable, adapter charger, and power source for malfunctions.  Try a new USB wall adapter or a different cord.  You want this light either glowing solid  red, when the speaker is OFF, or glowing or flashing  purple  when the speaker is ON.

Also, the Clip 2 warms a trifle as it charges as do most charger adapters you would run it with.  This heating is a rapid-fire way to tell if the JBL Clip is indeed charging.

As speaker charging advances toward the finish line, the status LED continues  glowing red or   purple.  But unlike some of the more expensive JBL wireless speakers, the Clip 2 gives no reading of just how far along the charging battery is, just that recharging is in progress.  See the  red   glowing lamp in the last picture, pointed at by the green arrow.

When the LED Goes Out or Turns Solid or Flashing Blue, Charging is Complete

The battery charge cycle is done when the status LED changes from  red  and / or  purple  to any  blue  color pattern as well as going OFF altogether, as shown in the next two pictures.

Finally, Unplug the JBL Clip 2 and Turn it On

If the power LED flashes solid or flashing  blue, as pictured above, this could mean that the Clip 2 did indeed charge when attached to external power, particularly if the speaker was dead or near dead before you plugged it in.  But with the USB cable disconnected, we cannot know just by reading the power LED, just how much the Clip 2 actually recharged, only that it did charge some. It probably did recharge to full though, especially if we waited until the light stopped glowing  red  or   purple  before disconnecting the charger.

Happy Clip 2 listening!

How to Tell if JBL Go 2 Is Charging

How to tell if JBL Go 2 is charging?  This little Bluetooth speaker has just one LED lamp on its front, as shown in the pictures that follow.  This two-color lamp not only indicates speaker power on off and pairing status, but it also tells battery level and charging status.  To see if this speaker is charging,  look at this light.  We describe how to read it below.

How to Tell if JBL Go 2 is Charging

Connect your Go 2 to Household Power

Of course, you can be certain that the Go is NOT charging with no power cord  connected to it.

Check the Front Panel Power / Status LED

You can tell if the JBL Go 2 is charging if this lamp glows steady red.  When not charging, and the battery inside is close to dead, and the Go 2 is powered on, this light blinks red.   If it flashes  red  with the power cord connected, then the Go 2 is not charging, and you should check your USB cord and power adapter for proper operation.  Try a different charger.  You want this light glowing solid red.  Indeed the Go 2 is not recharging if the lamp glows or flashes any other color or pattern than solid red.

Picture of the JBL Go 2 Bluetooth speaker front view, highlighting the red status light, meaning that the speaker is charging.

Also, the Go 2 slightly warms as it charges as does most charger adapters you would power it with.  This warmth is a handy way to tell if the JBL Go is in fact, charging.

As speaker charging moves on, the status lamp continues to glow solid red.  Unlike some of the more advanced JBL speakers however, the Go 2 gives no indication of just how far along the battery charging is, just that charging is in progress.  See the red glowing lamp in the last picture, pointed out by the green arrow.

When the Light Goes Out or Turns Solid or Flashing White, Charging is Done

The battery charge cycle is done when the status LED changes from solid red to any other color or pattern, including going off altogether, as shown next.

Finally, Unplug the JBL Go 2 and Turn it On

If the power LED flashes solid or flashing white, as pictured above, this could mean that the Go 2 did indeed charge when connected to AC power, particularly if the speaker was dead or near dead before you recharged it.  But with the cord disconnected, we cannot tell just by examining the power lamp, just how much the Go 2 actually charged, only that it did charge some. It probably did recharge to full though, especially if we waited until the light stopped glowing  red  before unplugging the charger.

Happy Bluetoothing!

How to Tell if JBL Charge 3 is Charging

How to tell if JBL Charge 3 is charging?  Well, this Bluetooth speaker with power bank has a lone row of small LED lamps across its pedestal, as shown in the pictures coming up.  These lights display battery charge level status.  To tell if this speaker is charging, look at these to see Charge 3 charging in action and how to know that the speaker is indeed taking on energy.

How to Tell if JBL Charge 3 is Charging

Connect your Charge Three to AC Power

Obviously, you can be sure that this speaker is NOT charging when no cord is connected to it.

Check the Battery Status Lamps

There are five lamps that light in succession as the Charge 3 battery charging moves forward, as we show in the next picture.  You can tell if the JBL Charge 3 is charging if you see one of these lamps flashing white.  When the battery inside is  dead all the way, the light on the far left blinks white while charging.  Then as the battery fills, that lamp switches to a steady white glow.  At that time, the next lamp to the right starts blinking white.

Picture of the JBL Charge 3 Bluetooth rechargeable speaker battery status gage at eighty percent of full charge.

JBL Charge 3 Bluetooth rechargeable speaker battery status gauge at eighty percent of full charge. How to tell if JBL Charge 3 is charging.

Also, the speaker heats up a bit during charging as does its USB charger.  This warmth is an excellent way how to tell if the JBL Charge 3 is charging.

When All Lamps Light Solid, Charging is Close to Finished

As speaker charging persists, more and more of the lamps light up solid, and the flashing moves further to the right, until it reaches the last of these five battery level indicator lamps.  This next-in-line lighting is another indication that the Charge 3 is in fact, charging.

This next picture shows the speaker just before wrapping up a charging cycle. Note that all the lamps in the battery status meter glow.  But the last one goes on blinking for several minutes.  When one light blinks while a working charger is connected, this is another way that the speaker tells us that the Charge 3 is recharging.

Picture of the JBL Charge Three Bluetooth speaker, front view, charging in progress but nearly done, with all battery gauge lamps ON and circled.

JBL Charge Three Bluetooth speaker, front view, charging in progress but nearly done, with all battery gauge lamps ON and circled.

The battery recharge cycle finishes when all charge status gauge lamps go dark, as shown next. Thus, the battery is no longer recharging when all lamps are OFF. Even with the charger cord still plugged in, no lamp glows when battery is full.  The speaker no longer charges when the battery reaches this state.

Picture of the Charge 3 JBL speaker, front view, fully charged with all battery gauge lamps OFF and circled.

Charge 3 JBL speaker, front view, fully charged with all battery gauge lamps OFF and circled.

Finally, Unplug the Speaker and Turn it On

If the battery gauge reads full, this tells you that the speaker did indeed charge when connected to AC power.

Take care.
