Shows where the Action button is on Alexa speakers, including the Dot, Echo, Spot, Sub, and Studio models. Note that all the speakers that we know of have this button on the top of the unit somewhere.
Where is the Action Button on Alexa Echo Dot Gen 1 Speaker
First in our list, on the 1st generation Echo Dot, find this button on the top of the unit.
Where is It on Alexa Echo Dot Gen 2 Speaker
On the second generation Echo Dot, there is no separate button for resetting the speaker. Instead, the Mic Off and Volume Down (-) buttons on the top of the unit are pressed and held down at the same time to initiate a factory default reset. See these in the following picture. Where is the Action Button on Alexa Echo Dot Gen 3 Speaker
On the 3rd generation Echo Dot, again, we find no separate button for resetting. Rather, the Action button on the top of the unit also acts as the Reset button. Where is the Action Button on the Alexa Echo Gen 1 Speaker
The Alexa Echo Gen 1 speaker has a separate physical reset button with pinhole access on the bottom of the unit, as shown next.
Where is the Action Button on the Alexa Echo Gen 2 Speaker
The Alexa Gen 2 Echo speaker, we find no separate reset button. But the Mic Off and Volume Down buttons on the top of the unit, also serve as the Reset button when pressed and held in at the same time. See these controls circled in the next picture.
Where is It on the Alexa Echo Gen 3 Speaker
The Alexa Echo Gen 3 speaker, again, has no separate reset button. But the Action button on the top also serves as the Reset button. See this control pointed out by the green arrow in the next picture.
Where is the Action Button on the Alexa Echo Spot Speaker
No physical Action button is provided on the Alexa Echo Spot.
Where is It on the Alexa Echo Studio Speaker
Once again, find the Action button on the top of the unit. It’s the right-most button in the group of buttons there.
Where is the Action Button on the Alexa Echo Sub Speaker
Likewise, we find no separate reset button on the Alexa Echo Studio. But there is the Action button on the back of the unit, which also functions as the Reset button. See this control pointed out in the next picture.
