How to Bass Boost JBL Flip 4

Change how loud the bass is on the JBL Flip 4, by turning ON and OFF its bass boost. When ON, bass boost makes the passive radiators on each side of the unit vibrate much more.  Plus, it adds a low rumble quality to the playing program, that travels pretty far from the speaker.  So, for you boom lovers, this post shows how to bass boost this speaker, to get that extra umph.

How to Bass Boost JBL Flip 4: You Can Turn it OFF

By default, this speaker has bass boost mode turned ON after a reset.  This adds a bit of treble and lots of extra bass to the audio.

You can turn this bass boost off by pressing the Volume Down (-) and Bluetooth buttons.

Then Hold them in for roughly ten seconds, until the Power and Connect buttons light up white. This deactivates bass boost. Then the Flip 4 sounds like it now has more midrange frequencies and less bass.

How to Turn On Bass Boost on the JBL Flip 4

To re activate bass boost once more, press the Volume Down and Bluetooth buttons. Then hold them in until the Power and Connect buttons light white.  Then release them.  When these buttons above light together, bass boost is active once again.

Warning

The unit really thumps when you switch ON bass boost.  So be warry of how loudly you play this speaker with the bass boosted. Caution here helps to avoid breakage to the drivers. If the bass is crackling, snapping, tapping, or otherwise distorting, turn it down !
