Change how loud the bass is on the JBL Boombox 2, by turning on its Extra Bass mode. When ON, this mode makes the passive bass radiators vibrate much more. Plus it adds a low rumble quality to the playing program.
By default, the Boombox 2 has this mode ON after a reset. This adds a bit of treble and lots of extra bass. In this demo, we use a Boombox 1. But we will update the pictures as soon as we acquire a Boombox 2. At any rate, the procedures for the speakers appear to be the same.
You can turn this extra bass mode off by pressing the Volume Down (-) and Bluetooth buttons. Then hold them in for about ten seconds. Finally release them when the Power and Connect buttons light up. Find all these buttons on the top of the unit.
To turn Extra Bass mode back on, again, press the Volume Down and Bluetooth buttons. Hold them in until the Power and Connect buttons light up. Then release them. This activates Extra Bass mode once more.
The drivers really rock when you switch on Extra Bass mode. So be careful how loudly you play this speaker. Indeed with the Extra Bass mode ON, the extra bass could damage the speaker drivers. Certainly if the bass is crackling, tapping, or distorting, then turn it down !
