You can change how loud the bass is on the JBL Boombox 2, by turning on its bass mode. When switched on, this super bass mode makes the passive bass radiators on the sides vibrate much more. Plus it adds a low rumble quality to the playing program, that travels pretty far from the speaker. Moreover, you’ll hear a bit more treble as well.
How to Turn On JBL Boombox 2 Bass Mode
By default, the JBL Boombox 2 has its bass mode turned ON. This is the case after a reset or when fresh out of the box.

But if you want more bass, then try to turn bass mode ON. Press and hold in the Volume Down (-) and Bluetooth buttons for about ten seconds.
Hold them in until the Power and Connect buttons light up together. See this in the next picture, pointed at by the green arrows. E.g. Find all these buttons on the top of the speaker, as shown in the picture above.

To turn bass mode back to what it was before, then again, press the Volume Down and Bluetooth buttons. Hold them in until the Power and Connect buttons light up. Then release them. When the buttons inside the oval island light up, bass mode goes back to what it was once more.
Warning
The drivers really rock when you switch on bass mode. So use caution in how loudly you play the JBL Boombox 2 with the extra bass. This way, you’ll avoid damaging the speaker drivers inside. If the bass is crackling, tapping, or otherwise distorting, turn it down ! Plus, less bass means longer battery life per charge as well.
