JBL Charge 4 Charger Type

An adequate JBL Charge 4 charger type, is a USB AC wall or car charger that supplies enough power to fully recharge this speaker in the least amount of time (around 4 hours). Note that currently, JBL does not include a USB charger with this speaker.  So, you’ll need to either have one already or buy one.

Also, the speaker has a USB-C charging port. So be sure to have the right USB-C cable on hand, to connect the speaker to whatever charger you decide to use.

Furthermore, the maximum current this speaker accepts is 2.3 amps, and this gives the fastest charging performance. So you’ll get that whether you use a USB-A or USB-C charger.  Just be sure to get the right cable, depending on the charger you have.

Which JBL Charge 4 Charger Type Works Best?

We’ve successfully charged our Charge 4 speaker with the AC adapters we list below. Note that some of these feature a USB A type female connector.  So, you can use an AC adapter like these to connect your speaker if you wish to use the USB-C to USB-A cord that comes with the JBL Charge 4.  Or, if your charger only has a USB-C output port, you’ll need to get a USB-C to USB-C cable.

USB-C Chargers that Work Well with the JBL Charge 4

This group of chargers can recharge the JBL Charge 4 at the maximum power that the speaker can take (11.5 watts).  Plus none of these is very expensive. But for most of them, you will need a USB-C to USB-C cable to connect each charger to the speaker.

2. CE Tech 4 Port USB Wall Charger

This CE Tech charging station is another beefy unit, well suited for recharging most JBL Charge speakers in the shortest time possible.  This well built USB power hub is available on eBay for under thirty US dollars here.  We also review this quad port charging system here.

3. GE Jasco Y14 11307 USB AC Charger

4. JBL Charger for the Charge 4
