JBL Charge 5 speaker, top view, showing all lights lit.
When the JBL Charge 5 Lights Stay ON, this speaker may be in lock. So when locked, you cannot pair to or play music through it. Lock also disables the buttons, except for the combo you need to exit this mode. Also, all the top panel lamps glow white when they stay ON. Furthermore, the battery gauge on the front glows white and pink. Another thing that can happen is the red light keeps blinking even though you connect the charger. We address both of these situations below.
You can restore correct operation by cancelling lock. But note that when active, you can switch lock OFF without connecting the charger. That is as long as the battery is not completely dead, you still have some control over the speaker.
As long as the lights are glowing, you should be able to stop this behavior without connecting a charger. To get the lights to go out, press and hold the Power button until they go dark. Then, when next you power up the speaker, normal operation should return.
In this case, check your power outlet, charger, and cord. Make sure they all work. Check that the outlet is live. Make sure also that your charger is delivering power. Do this by charging another device with it. Do the same for the USB cable you’re using. And finally, make sure that the speaker itself is not defective.
