JBL Clip 4 Charging Time: How Long it Plays Per Full Charge

After a complete charging, the Clip 4 JBL can play for up to ten (10) hours. Thanks go to its 3.885 watt-hour lithium polymer battery for this long play time. But when you play it loudly, especially with extra bass, you will see somewhat abbreviated playing time. We’ve seen this Bluetooth speaker run dead in around seven hours when played at louder volumes. So to get the longest charge time from it, power saving is key. Just play it only as loudly as you need to, to hear it well throughout your listening space.

The Music Play Time Gets Smaller as the JBL Clip 4 Ages

Now you may own the Clip 4 over a few to several years. So you may notice that the time it plays from a single charge dwindles as it ages. But this is normal for devices like this one, that rely on lithium ion polymer batteries.

But by working the battery periodically, you can slow this charge capacity degradation.

To exercise the JBL Clip 4, run the battery dead first. Then charge it again. Do that at least once every three to six months.

Also, we advise that you avoid leaving the speaker plugged into a charger once it reaches full charge. Right after the charging lamp shuts off, disconnect the speaker as soon as you can. This helps avoid potential overcharging and damage to the battery.
