You charge the Flip 5 conveniently via the USB-C charge port. And to get the shortest JBL Flip 5 charging time, and fullest charge, use a large enough USB-C charger.
According to the specs, the time it takes to fully charge the JBL Flip 5 is three 3.5 hours.
On a full charge, the JBL Flip 5 can play for up to twelve (12) hours from a single charge. This is thanks to its 3,000 MaH, 3.7 volt lithium polymer battery. But when you play it extra loudly, especially with lots of bass, you will see much shorter play time. We’ve seen the Flip 5 run dead in around nine hours at parties. So to get the most time from it, power conservation is key. Thus, only play it as loudly as you must.
Now maybe you own this speaker over a few to several years. If so, you may notice that the time it plays from a single charge decreases with age. This is normal for devices like this one, that rely on lithium polymer batters. But by exercising the battery, you can slow this drop off.
So to work the JBL Flip 5, run the battery dead first. Then charge it again every three to six months. Do this when not in use. Also, we suggest not leaving the Flip 5 plugged into a charger once charging completes. So, once the charging lamps go out, disconnect the charger immediately. This helps to avoid possible overcharging and battery damage.
