Charge this speaker conveniently via their USB-C charge port. Then to get the shortest JBL Flip 6 charge time, be sure to use a large enough USB-C adapter. Here we explain all of this further.
According to the specs, it takes two hours and thirty minutes (2.5 hours) to charge this speaker. This is the fastest time, which assumes you’re using a 5 volt, 3 amp, 15 watt (at least) adapter.
On a full charge, the speaker can play for up to twelve (12) hours from a single charge. This is due to its 4,800 MaH, 3.6 volt, 17.28 watt-hour lithium polymer battery.
But when you play it extra loud, particularly with lots of bass, you will see shorter playing times. We’ve seen this speaker run dead in around nine hours at full volume. So to get the most charge time from it, saving power is key. Only play it as loudly as necessary.
Now over several years, you may notice that the time the speaker plays from a single charge decreases. This is normal for devices such as this one, that rely on lithium ion polymer batteries. But by exercising the battery, you can slow this degrade. Do that by exercising the speaker every three to six months. To do that, run the battery dead first. Then charge it again. This happens as a matter of course when you frequently use the speaker. But when it’s in storage for long periods, it’s good to periodically drain and recharge the battery.
Also, do not leave the speaker on the charge once its battery hits full. In fact, as soon as the charging lamps completely go out, disconnect the speaker right away. This avoids overcharging it and possible battery damage.
