Pelonis Electric Radiator Heater HO-0250H, right side view.
We purchased the Pelonis whole room radiator, model HO-0250H to warm the bedroom in our ground level apartment.
Cheap price, at $37.99 on sale at Walmart. The Pelonis whole room radiator performs the same as most other 1500 watt radiators we’ve tried. It provides a slowly-rising, silent, gentle warming. It rolls from spot to spot on its plastic casters to those drafty, chilly areas as needed. Plus, this enclosed heating system guards against oil spills, electric shock, or severe burns. Very safe. This radiator has widely spaced casters that reduce knock-over risks. Should it fall, this model contains a tip switch that shuts off the heater. Cool down then happens quickly.
This Pelonis whole room radiator, with its low-profile, thin and tall design, fits into corners. You can also put it between furniture pieces and under most windows. Furthermore, it can work well as a bathroom heater with appropriate ground fault outlet protection. It blasts most of its heat upwards. This lowers risks of overheating walls, furniture, and people nearby. Follow the safe-operating tips in the included users guide.
This cable is short enough to reduce tripping hazards. Yet it’s long enough to reach from the heater to most nearby wall outlets.
Avoid running this appliance on an extension cord however. Also plug only into an outlet that tightly grips the plug prongs, for the safest connections.
A circular power cord holder appears at the bottom of the front (control) panel on this Pelonis whole room radiator. You may wrap the cord around this roll when not using the heater.
An adjustable mechanical thermostat regulates the room temperature to within several degrees of the set point.
Heats up a single, large room. So you may turn down the primary furnace for the whole house. Then just heat the areas you wish with this heater.
Four wing nuts attach the two sets of two wheel casters each to the underside of the unit. Do not run this heater without these pieces correctly installed.
The oil inside submerges the heating element, for even heat distribution throughout the fins.
Choose either 600, 900, and 1500 watt heating power levels via the four position selector switch.
This electric oil heater includes sensors that automatically shut off power to the heating elements, should an over-temperature condition arise.
Cuts power to the heater if the heater falls over (is not standing straight up).
The orange neon pilot lamp glows whenever the heater is ON.
This lamp illuminates if the heater becomes overheated.
The control panel features the following.
It’s on the top of the front panel. Furthermore, it supports easy pulling / rolling of the heater to new locations, even while running.
Added protection against electric shock. However, this is a two-prong outlet. So you do not need three-to-two prong adapters to connect to mains power.
These non-metallic knobs and coatings on the heating fins help reduce risks of severe burns and electrical shock.
The Pelonis whole room radiator makes little noise, except for the occasional snaps, cracks, clicks, and pops as it heats. However, once warm, these sounds disappear. Then all that you might hear is the thermostat clicking as it switches ON and OFF.
This Pelonis™ radiator operates from standard 120 volts AC. It draws 12.5 amps maximum. So it can run from any 15 amp or greater circuit.
You may deploy this heater safely where people sleep. Indeed it emits very low fumes. Why? Because it runs on electricity, and not natural or propane gas.
These standards promote ease of use and enhanced safety of the heater.
We bought ours for under $50.

We carried one of these in our suit case on a 100-mile train ride. Yep. Weighty.
By no means instant heat. Filled with oil, this electric radiator takes ten to twenty minutes to begin giving maximum heat. This no doubt comes from the oil inside taking a while to reach full temperature.
The exterior surfaces of this space heater become way too hot to touch while operating. So, keep away. Avoid direct contact with skin during operation; especially when operating at full (1500 watt) power output.
For those sensitive to noises in the bedroom, this radiator indeed clicks as its thermostat switches ON and OFF. We find this a non issue though, as this switching is pretty quiet. But some of you might not be as forgiving of noise. So turn the thermostat fully left and fully right before you buy. This works the t-tat contacts, which lets you hear how loud this clicking sound actually is. Then you get a good idea of how loud this will be in your space.
The overpowering scent of paint / plastic lasted for nearly the first week after putting into service. However, with repeated use, this odor eventually disappeared. Furthermore, we first “burned in” the heater outdoors on the porch, in a dry location, for several hours. This helps dry up any still-damp paint and coatings.
You can easily move it around via the handle, without fear of burning our fingers.
We find the Pelonis™ simple to clean too. When it’s cold, just wipe around and between the fins every month or two. Thus. this removes dust and cuts start-up odors in the fall.
Indeed this Pelonis whole room radiator portable space heater very well heated our living areas. It indeed well complimented the primary furnace heating system there. Furthermore, it outputs 5200 BTUs when running the full 1500 watts capacity. So this amount of heat is fine for small to medium-size rooms with decently insulated walls and windows. But for more drafty spots though, you may need two or more of these.
Finally, we like how cheap this heater is to buy. It is also simple to assemble and run. So, we rate this radiator at 95 out of 100. It’s indeed a high-quality, useful home appliance.
