Amazon Alexa Echo Dot Gen 2 smart speaker AC power adapter and USB cord.
We cover the AC power adapter specs for Amazon Alexa Echo Dot 2 smart speaker units here. Specifically, this is an often seen medium-current USB switching power supply. Furthermore, the detachable cord has a female A style USB connector with the usual USB wattage. See it in the next picture.
Now the US version of this USB power supply sports a standard 120v two prong, non polarized plug. It has non retractable prongs, as displayed next.
But foldable prongs are not always helpful. That’s true for non portable uses for the speaker, since this speaker needs external power to work. One problem is that foldable prongs can loosen over time. Thus, they can develop faulty connections. Therefore, this might cause poor operation and speaker cutouts. Now it’s true that you are not likely to plug and unplug the Echo Dot 2 power cord much. So we feel that folding prongs would give little added value here. In fact, they could cause lots of problems instead.
Firstly, this lightweight and compact power plug, model LY87DR, LO P/N: PA 1090-7AZ1 , accepts 50-60 Hz. 100-240 volts, at 0.3 amps Max input at 11.68 Wh. It outputs 5.2 volts DC at 1.8 amps max, 9 watts, at 0.08 Wh.
Finally, the included USB cable matches the black case of this wall adapter. It has a micro USB male plug at the small end. At the other, it has a USB A male plug.
No pilot lamp here to show that the plug is running.
