JBL Go Reset

The Pairing and Volume UP buttons on the JBL Go speaker.

We give here the JBL Go reset directions, to restore this mini Bluetooth speaker to its default settings and state. Plus, it wipes any earlier paired BT devices from the speaker’s memory. Clearing these stops the Go from pairing to any nearby Bluetooth devices afterwards. Also, you might reset to make this speaker ready or sale or re-gifting, or simply to stop it from pairing with devices you no longer wish it to pair with whenever you power it on.

JBL Go Reset, Step by Step

1. Turn on the JBL Go

Press and hold the Power button until the status lamp on the front top lights up and the guitar strum sound plays.

Find the Power button, as shown in the last picture above.

Then, the status light comes on, as we show next.

2. Wait for the Power Up Guitar Sound

The speaker makes a rising electric guitar strum sound when it boots.

Then, the JBL Go1 is ready for use when this sound finishes.

Now this speaker may or may not pair with a device, depending on whether there are any in-range wireless devices that know about this speaker. But whether paired or not, the reset works the same way, as follows.

3. Press the Volume UP and Bluetooth Buttons Together

Find the Pairing and UP Volume buttons. The Pairing button is on the top panel, second button in from the left edge of the speaker, and the Volume UP button is two buttons to its right. We point out both buttons with the arrows in the next picture.

The speaker then enters reset.

Next, within a second or two, the unit powers off after reset finishes. Signs that the speaker has shut off include the falling guitar strum sound, and the status lamp goes dark, as we see next.

4. Check that JBL Go Reset Did Indeed Work

Next, switch on the speaker again, as explained in step 1 above.

Note that after reset, the speaker comes up in ready-to-pair mode, with the status lamp rapidly blinking blue.

5. Done with JBL Go Reset !

The reset of the JBL Go 1 speaker is now complete. Thus you may gift or sell it, or pair it again with your favorite Bluetooth devices.

After reset, the speaker no longer automatically connects with any previously paired Bluetooth device that happens to be in range and in Bluetooth pairing mode. Thus, to re establish automatic Bluetooth pairing, you would first manually pair the Go with some device. Next, after that, any time that both this speaker, and that device have Bluetooth running, pairing would automatically take place again.
