Here, we show the JBL Xtreme reset button location and give a short lesson on how to use it. To summarize, you press a button duo to reset the Xtreme back to factory default settings. But unlike some other BT portable speakers, there’s no single button on the Xtreme named Reset. Instead, it turns out that to reset this BT speaker, you use a button combo, found on the speaker’s control panel on the top. For the lowdown on how this button chord press works, see our JBL Xtreme Reset Instructions – How to Reset JBL Xtreme Speaker article. See the following for how to find the buttons that comprise the reset button chord.
Now to factory reset, find the Play Pause and Volume UP buttons. E.g. The Play Pause button is pointed at by the green arrow in the next picture, and is on the buttons panel side of the speaker, on the far right end. Also, the Volume UP button is one button to its left, as also pointed out in that photo.
With the speaker running, press both buttons together, and hold them until factory reset begins.
The JBL Xtreme reset wraps up rapidly after pressing the Play Pause-Plus button combination. The Xtreme shuts down once it clears any Bluetooth connections from its memory. Reset the Xtreme when gifting or selling it. Or after a hard reset, pair it again with your favorite BT source devices. The two-button chord makes it a bit hard to inadvertently reset the speaker, although for some, resetting like this can frustrate.
