Telling That JBL Go 2 Is Charging

Explains ways of Telling That JBL Go 2 Is Charging. Now this little speaker has just one LED lamp on its front, as shown in the pictures that follow.  This two-color lamp not only indicates speaker power on off and pairing status. But it also tells battery level and charging status.  So to see if this speaker is charging,  just look at this light.  We describe how to read it below.

Telling That JBL Go 2 Is Charging: Step by Step

1. Connect your JBL Go 2 to Household Power

Of course, you can be certain that the Go is NOT charging with no power cord  connected to it.

2. Check the Front Panel Power / Status LED

You can tell if the JBL Go 2 is charging if this lamp glows steady red.  But this light can blink red as well.  If it flashes  red  with the power cord connected, then the speaker is not charging. Further, you should check your USB cord and power adapter for proper operation.  Try a different charger.  You want this light glowing solid red.  Indeed the speaker is not recharging if the lamp glows or flashes any other color or pattern than solid red.

The red status light, meaning that the JBL Go 2 is charging.

Also, the Go 2 slightly warms as it charges as does most charger adapters you would power it with.  This warmth is a handy way to tell if the JBL Go is in fact, charging.

As speaker charging moves on, the status lamp continues to glow solid red.  The JBL Go 2 gives no indication though, of just how far along the battery charging is. It just signals that charging is in progress.  See the red glowing lamp in the last picture.

3. When the Light Goes Out or Turns Solid or Flashing White, JBL Go 2 Charging is Done

The LED tells us when the battery charge cycle is done.  It does this by changing from solid red to any other color or pattern. This includes going dark, as we see next.

The JBL Go 2 showing as fully charged, with its steady glowing or blinking white lamp.

The lamp stops glowing altogether when the battery is full. This is the case even with the charger cord still plugged in, and the speaker is OFF.  The speaker stops charging when the battery reaches full.

The status lamp is not glowing at all.

4. Finally, Unplug the JBL Go 2 and Turn it On

If the power LED flashes solid or flashing white, this could mean that the Go 2 did indeed charge. But with the cord disconnected, we cannot tell just by examining the power lamp, just how much charge it took.  But it probably did recharge to full though. This is definitely true if we waited until the light stopped glowing  red  before disconnecting the charger.
