How to Charge JBL Charge 3

You can recharge many JBL speakers conveniently via the hidden USB charge port. To summarize how to charge JBL Charge 3: First, choose a right sized USB power adapter.

Next, connect the orange micro USB cable included with the speaker between the Charge 3 and the included power adapter. Next, plug the adapter into a working wall outlet. Finally after a few to five hours, your speaker will fully charge. Then, you’ll be able to play it again for up to ten hours approximately, before you must charge it again.

How to Charge JBL Charge 3, Step by Step

1. Choose Right Size Power Adapter

Firstly as mentioned above, we use here the included USB wall charger AC adapter.

2. Open the Port Cover

Secondly, pry open the waterproof seal port cover on the speaker rear. This exposes the micro USB charging port inside, as shown next.  It’s the port in the middle.

3. Plug in the Micro USB Cord to Continue with How to Charge JBL Charge 3

Then, plug the small end of the cord into the matching micro USB port in the speaker.

4. Plug the Other End of the Cord into the USB Power Adapter

Next, connect the A end of the USB charge cable to the power supply.

5. Plug that Adapter into a Working Wall Outlet

Then connect the charger to a working AC outlet.

At least one of the battery status lamps lights up when you connect power. Also, there are five lamps that light in succession as charging progresses.

6. Allow the Speaker to Charge Until All Battery Power Lights Go Off

Battery charging is almost complete when all but the last of the battery status lights light solid. The last one continues to blink for several minutes more to top off the charging.

Then, the battery recharge cycle finishes when all battery status gauge lights go out, as shown next.

7. Unplug the USB Charge Cable

Note that unless you snap this flap fully into place, water could enter the port area. Then this could damage the electronics inside. So, be careful to press the port door closed firmly, to get full water resistance.

9. Done !

At last we have now fully charged our speaker. Note that the battery gauge just after turning on the unit after a full recharge. See that all lamps in it glow. So this means that the speaker has a full charge.

Finally, repeat this process every ten to twelve hours of play. This indeed helps keep its battery in top working order. We charge ours when the battery meter lights show only one light glowing.
