You can recharge the JBL Charge 3 wireless speakers conveniently via their hidden USB charge ports. To summarize how to charge the JBL Charge 3 : First, choose a right sized USB power adapter.
Next, connect the orange micro USB cable included with the speaker between the Charge 3 and the included power adapter. Next, plug the adapter into a working wall outlet. Finally after a few to five hours, your speaker will fully charge. Then, you’ll be able to play it again for up to ten hours approximately, before you must charge it again.

How to Charge JBL Charge 3 Portable Bluetooth Speaker

1. Choose Right Size Power Adapter
As mentioned above, we’re using the included USB wall charger AC adapter, as shown next.

2. Open the Port Cover on the JBL Charge 3
Secondly, pry open the waterproof seal port cover on the speaker rear. This exposes the micro USB charging port inside, as shown next. It’s the port in the middle.

3. Plug in the Micro USB Cord to Continue with How to Charge JBL Charge 3
Then, plug the small end of the orange micro USB charge cord into the matching micro USB port in the speaker, as shown next.

4. Plug the Other End of the Cord into the USB Power Adapter
Next, connect the A end of the USB charge cable to the power supply.
5. Plug that Adapter into a Working Wall Outlet
Now that the speaker and the included JBL AC adapter are connected, we plug the charger into a working AC outlet, as shown next.

At least one of the battery status lamps lights up on the speaker when you apply sufficient USB power. There are five lamps on this speaker that light in succession as internal battery charging progresses, as shown in the next picture.

6. Allow the Speaker to Charge Until All Battery Power Lights Go Off
Battery charging is almost complete when all but the last of the battery status lights light solid. The last one continues to blink for several minutes more to top off the charging.
Then, the battery recharge cycle finishes when all battery status gauge lights go out, as shown next.

Note that unless this flap is snapped securely and completely in place, water could enter the port area, possibly damaging the electronics inside the speaker. So, be careful to press the port door closed with enough force to correctly seat it, to get full water resistance. See how this port door looks when completely closed and sealed in the next picture.

9. Done with How to Charge the JBL Charge 3 !
We have now fully charged our speaker. Note that the battery charge status gauge just after turning on the speaker after a full recharge. All lamps that make up the gauge glow, meaning that the speaker is current fully charged.
Finally, repeat this process every ten to twelve hours of music play through the Charge 3, to keep its battery in top working order. We charge ours when the battery indicator lights show only one light glowing.
