The top front view of the JBL Flip 6 speaker.
Explains how to pair JBL Flip 6 speakers with typical mobile devices like the iPhone, iPad, and iPod.
With Flip 6 powered OFF, run through this routine to pair it to your mobile device.
Firstly, press the Home button to bring up the mobile iOS device’s Home screen. Shown next.
Then we find ours on the second page of an iPad home screen.
Tap the Settings app icon.
The mobile device then displays the first page of its settings.
Then the Bluetooth settings page displays, similar to the following.
Note that our Bluetooth is ON here. But when the speakers are OFF, they do not appear in the Bluetooth devices list. Also, we don’t see ours since we’ve never paired it with the iPad Air before.
Turn on these speakers by quickly pressing the Power button.
The speaker then powers up.
But the iPad does not know about speakers that it has never paired with before. So it will not auto pair with them now. So the light in the Pairing button denotes this by slow flashing or staying dark.
Then to see them on your device, place these speakers into discovery mode. So to do that, press and release the Bluetooth button.
When you press this button, these speakers play a repeating single pluck guitar note. Also, the Bluetooth button begins fast flashing white.
Then we find ours as follows.
So tap their entry in the Other Devices section of the Bluetooth devices list.
Your source device then pairs with them (“JBL Flip 6” in this demo). The mobile device’s Bluetooth Settings screen then changes to look something like the following.
At last we have now paired our Flip 6. Also, similar routines work with iPod Touch, iPad Pros, and any iPhones as well. As long as they support Bluetooth. Furthermore, pairing with Android devices works in a similar way too.
