Perform this HP DeskJet 3632 wireless setup instructions to clear out the existing WiFi setting. You can also and connect this printer to a different Wifi network in this procedure.
You must change WiFi networks after replacing a router / access point that has a different network credentials. Furthermore, you may also have to do this when moving the printer to a different office or home location. So, here’s how to accomplish this.
We assume here that you have previously installed HP’s All-In-One app on your device you want to print from. So we won’t delve into setting up that app in this post.
Hard reset the printer by following the instructions in our How to Reset HP Printer, 3630 Series DeskJet article.
We’re running an iOS-based tablet here
It then comes up as shown next.
In our case, we had this printer configured previously. So it shows up at the top of the AiO Remote home screen. Now perhaps you are setting up the printer on a different device altogether. If so, then skip the next step. The app will immediately give you the opportunity to add a printer in this case.
Then note the red dot by the printer name, above the ink cartridge status indicator. This dot means that your tablet is unable to connect to the printer through the current network. Tapping this entry gives you the opportunity to select a different printer.
Find this highlighted in the previous picture. You then get the My Printer screen, as shown next.
Top right corner of screen. This brings up the Add Printer window, as pictured next.
Then this brings up the Agreements screen, as displayed next.
Check the I have reviewed and accept the agreements and settings check box. Then move on to the next step.
If not however, then close the app, without setting up the printer.
This brings up the Connect to Printer screen, as shown next.
Find the Wi-Fi Settings as shown next. For our iPad, we pressed the home screen, ran the Settings app, and then tapped Wi-Fi settings.
Then this action temporarily disconnects your tablet from your usual Wi-Fi network. It then connects the tablet to this temporary HP hotspot network that the printer broadcasts. A screen such as the following then displays.
Now the notification may disappear before you have a chance to tap it. Indeed you only get a few seconds to poke it before it goes away. So if that happens, then just close the Wi-Fi Settings window. Then locate the AiO Remote app on your Home screen as in step 2 above, and tap on that. Either way you choose, the app then displays the Connect Printer to Network screen.
In our case, we’re connecting this printer to the 937T681J4059H_2G Wi-Fi network. Tapping the desired network brings up the password entry screen, as shown next.
Type the password into the field arrowed in the previous picture, and then hit the Return or Go key. The 3632 then attempts to connect to the selected network.
That light stops flashing and glows a steady white once the printer successfully connects to the wireless network.
On the tablet, the Reconnect your iPad to your network screen displays.
However, we notice that sometimes, the Connecting screen in step 14 above does not disappear. So at times, this screen persists even after the printer itself connects. When this occurs, we simply close the AiO app with the Home key. Then we reopen it.
Then go back to your tablet’s Wi-Fi settings screen and locate your original wireless network and connect to it. Note that this may happen automatically once your printer connects. However, if not, just do it manually.
Do this by closing the Wi-Fi Settings screen in the previous step. To do that, hit the Home key. Then once again bring up the HP AiO Remote app, as you did in step 2 above. If the AiO home screen does not appear, then press the Home icon in whatever screen is showing. This should take you there.
Then note the green status light beside the 3632 printer. This indicates that the printer is now online.
At last, your HP 3632 wireless printer is now ready to print.
