Front of the JBL Clip 4 ultra portable speaker.
An adequate JBL Clip 4 charger type, is a USB wall or car charger that delivers enough juice to fully recharge this speaker in the least amount of time (around 3 hours). Note that currently, JBL does not include a USB charger with the Clip 4. So, you’ll need to either have one already or buy one.
Also, the speaker has a USB-C charging port. So if you buy one of the USB-C charger options below, then be sure to also purchase the right USB-C cable. You’ll use this to connect the speaker to whatever charger of choice. Details follow.
Furthermore, the maximum current this speaker accepts is 0.5 amps to get the speediest recharging performance. Either use a USB-C to USB-C cord, or a USB-A to USB-C cable if you go with one of the older USB 2.0 chargers below.
We’ve successfully charged the Clip 4 speaker with the AC adapters below. Note that some of these feature a USB A type female connector. So, you can use an adapter like these to connect your speaker if you wish to use the USB-C to USB-A cord that comes with this speaker. Or, if your charger only has a USB-C output port, then you’ll need a USB-C to USB-C cable, which they do not include with the speaker.
This group of chargers can recharge the JBL Clip 4 at the maximum power that the speaker can take (2.5 watts). Plus none of these costs very much. But for some of them, you will need a USB-C to USB-A cable to connect each charger to the speaker.
This hefty household wall charging station delivers all the current you need for charging your JBL Clip 4. It delivers full USB 2 power on each and every one of its ten output ports (more than enough for this speaker). This means that you will not increase the speaker charging time when you charge more than one device on it. Indeed, this charging station delivers enough juice to charge all older models in the JBL Clip line of portable Bluetooth speakers. Plus, you can charge them all together as well. Find this USB accessory here at Amazon.com. We also reviewed this charging station here.
This CE Tech charging station is another beefy unit, well suited for recharging most JBL Clip speakers in the smallest time possible. This well built USB power hub is available on eBay for under thirty US dollars here. We also review this quad port charging system here.
This charger is available at Amazon.com. See an equivalent charger’s product page at Amazon.com, here. At less than twelve dollars, this dual port AC USB wall adapter, with its folding plug prongs, is small enough to fit in any mobile device accessory travel kit. It’s also great when you take your speaker on vacation, because it features a night light. This makes finding your way around strange hotel rooms a cinch. See our GE Jasco 2.1 Amp USB Charger, Y14 Review post for more details on this affordable and practical JBL Clip 4 USB charger solution.
Finally, some JBL speakers come with this JBL AC adapter in the box. We find that while this wall charger does not come with the Clip 4, it still charges the speaker very well just the same. See our JBL Bluetooth Speaker USB AC Charger Adapter Specs for further details.
So, we hope this short list of compatible AC USB adapters helps you choose a suitable charger for your JBL Clip 4 wireless speaker.
