How to Pair Wonderboom Together

Explains how to pair Wonderboom together. Then two of them play the same audio from the same source device.  In this scenario, we use one Wonderboom 1, and one Wonderboom 2. But you can also pair two Wonderboom 1’s, two Wonderboom 2’s.

How to Pair Wonderboom Together: Step by Step

1. Power Up Both Wonderbooms

Press and release the Power button on the first one, and await the power-ON sound.

Then, press and release the Power button on the second Wonderboom, and again, wait for it to come on.

2. Pair the First Wonderboom with a Source Device

In this demo, we’ll first pair the Wonderboom 1 with our iPad Air tablet.  If you’re not sure how to do this, then see our  How to Pair Wonderboom Speaker   post for details.

3. Press and Release the Play / Pause Button on the First Wonderboom

Next, press the middle (Play / Pause) area of the Wonderboom you just paired. Then hold in until that speaker makes a connect sound and the pairing lamp starts quick-flashing.  Here, the first Wonderboom is the original one.

4. Press the Play / Pause Button on the 2nd Wonderboom

Next, press and release the middle area of the second speaker.  In this case, ours is the second version of the Wonderboom (Wonderboom 2).

Then we get a ready-to-pair sound. Also the pairing light just above the center button blinks briefly.  Then once this speaker links with the first Wonderboom, the pairing lamp starts glowing steadily.

5. Done with How to Pair Wonderboom Together !

Your two Wonderbooms now share a connection with the same source device.  Thus, when you play audio on that device, you’ll now hear it through both Wonderboom speakers.

A Wonderboom 1 and a Wonderboom 2 side by side.

Note that each Wonderboom provides stereo sound, even when you pair two of them together.  So each speaker plays in stereo whether or not it pairs to another Wonderboom.  Thus it’s not the case that the first Wonderboom plays the left channel and the second plays the right. Both Wonderbooms play both channels, in stereo, in fact.

Breaking This Pairing

To break the link between Wonderboom units, simply power down the second one.  After that, the first one (the Wonderboom that you connected with your source device) keeps playing.

Or, powering down the first one will also break the pairing between it and the second speaker. Thus the second one stops playing.  But this also breaks the link with the source device.  So shutting OFF the first Wonderboom stops BOTH from playing. But the second one will still be ON until you turn it OFF, even though it’s playing nothing.
