JBL Charge 5 Charger Type and Replacement

An adequate JBL Charge 5 charger type has enough power to recharge this speaker in around 4 hours. Note that currently, JBL does not include any charger with this speaker.  So, you’ll need to get one.

Also, the speaker has a USB-C charging port. So get the right USB-C cable to connect to whatever charger you have. Details follow.

Furthermore, the maximum current this speaker accepts is 3 amps, which gives the speediest charging performance. So to get that, be sure to use a USB-C charger.  Either use a USB-C to USB-C cord. Or if you have a charger with a QC 3.0 USB-A port, then use a compliant USB-A to USB-C cable.

Which JBL Charge 5 Charger Type Works Best?

We’ve successfully charged our Charge 5 speaker with the AC adapters we list below. Note that some of these feature a USB A type female connector.  So, you can use an AC adapter like these to connect. Or, if your charger only has a USB-C output port, you’ll need to get a USB-C to USB-C cable.

USB-C Chargers that Work Well with the JBL Charge 5

This group of chargers can recharge the JBL Charge 5 at the spec power of 15 watts. Plus none of these is too expensive. But for most of them, you will need a USB-C to USB-C cable to connect them to the speaker.

USB-A Chargers that Also Work Well with the JBL Charge 5

1. Gearmo Ten Port USB Charging Station

This hefty household wall charging station delivers all the current you need for charging your JBL Charge 5.  It delivers full USB 2 power on each and every one of its ten output ports.  This means that you will not increase the speaker charging time when you charge more than one device on it. In fact, this charging station supplies enough juice to charge all older JBL Bluetooth speaker models. Furthermore, you can charge them all at the same time as well. But since each port only delivers 2.4 amps, you won’t get the fastest charging time from this particular power station.  But you can still charge the Charge 5 in under 8 hours with this.

2. CE Tech 4 Port USB Wall Charger

This CE Tech charging station is another beefy unit. It works well for recharging most JBL Charge speakers in the shortest time.  Now this USB power hub is sometimes available on eBay for under thirty US dollars. We’ve also reviewed this quad port charging system.

3. GE Jasco Y14 11307 USB AC Charger

This charger is available at Amazon.com now and then. It costs less than twelve dollars. Plus this dual port AC USB wall adapter is small enough to fit in any tech bag. 4. JBL Charger for the Charge 5

Finally, some JBL speakers come with this JBL AC adapter included. Now this wall charger does not come with the Charge 5. Yet it still charges the speaker well.  See our JBL Bluetooth Speaker USB AC Charger Adapter Specs for further details.
