You charge these speakers via their micro USB charging port. And to get the fastest charging time and fullest charge when the JBL Clip 3 runs out of power, use a medium to high current USB charger.
According to the specs for this speaker the time it takes for full charging is three hours (3.0 hours).
On a complete charging, the Clip 3 JBL speaker can play for up to three (3) hours, due to its 1,000 MaH, 3.7 volt lithium ion polymer battery. But when you play it loudly, especially with extra bass, you will see somewhat shorter lasting power.
We’ve seen this BT speaker run dead in around two hours when played at louder volumes. So to get the longest play time from it, power saving is key. To conserve power, just play it only as loudly as you must, to hear it well around your listening space.
If you own this speaker over a few to several years, you may find that the time it plays from a single charge drops as the speaker gets older. This is usual for devices such as this, that rely on lithium ion batteries.
But by working the battery, you can slow this charging fall off.
To exercise the battery, run it dead and charge it again every three to six months when not in use.
Also, we suggest that you not leave the speaker plugged into a charger once the charging finishes. Right after the charging lamp completely go out, disconnect the speaker right away, to avoid overcharging it and damaging the battery.
