JBL Extreme Charger Details

The JBL Extreme Bluetooth speaker comes with an AC charger cord, discussed here. Moreover, this charger fully recharges the speaker’s built in power bank in roughly four hours. Then, the Extreme plays for up to fifteen hours at average volume levels before needing another charge. So here, we give the JBL Extreme charger information. We furthermore show how to charge this hefty yet portable Bluetooth speaker with it.

Firstly, the charger is black in color, as we see next. Plus, it has one barrel type DC power output plug. Finally, a detachable AC power cable connects the power converter box to a standard wall outlet.

About the Attached Cables

This charger comes in two pieces. First, we have the DC cable that’s permanently attached to the charger box. Next is an AC “cheater” style cord that plugs into the this box.

The AC Cord Part of the JBL Extreme Charger

Next, we show the AC input plug on that box. This is indeed a pretty standard, non polarized AC cord. So that means that you can insert the cord here either way. Furthermore, the standard 110 volt AC plug on the other end of the cable is non polarized.

Plus, the end of the AC cable that plugs into the power supply is about five eights of an inch long and a quarter inch wide, as shown next.

Also, the standard 110 volt AC plug on the other end of the cord is non polarized.

Next, we move on to the other connector in this power adapter.

The DC Output Part of the JB Extreme Charger

In addition, the part of the DC output jack the goes inside the speaker measures around 0.3 inches or 8 mm long, as shown next.

This DC plug has a notch near the tip to enhance secure holding when connected to the Extreme speaker, as seen in the last picture. Moreover, this plug is about three sixteenths of an inch wide, or roughly 5 mm. But we claim no degree of precision on these measurements.

How to Use the JBL Extreme Charger

You connect this charger and speaker together via the DC cable and its barrel connector as shown next. The Extreme has one DC input plug, labeled Power, inside its port panel just beneath the orange zipper. See this port pointed out by the green arrow in the next picture.

Finally, use this input to recharge the Extreme with this accessory charger cord.
