Logitech Wonderboom 3 Controls

In this Logitech Wonderboom 3 Controls book, we detail all the Controls, ports, and lamps on the speaker.  We give control functions, meanings, and codes and combinations to press for the various functions. And we show where they are on the speaker with many pictures.

Logitech Wonderboom 3 Controls: Summary

The Logitech Wonderboom 3 has five controls on the top and front. Plus, there’s one USB port on the back behind a water tight cover.

There are also two lamps in the top controls. The status lamp in the Power button glows in one color during normal operation. Then also it flashes to show speaker charging going on or pairing mode active. It changes color too when the battery is low.

Finally, we also find a lamp in the Bluetooth Pairing control that shows BT pairing status. It blinks when the speaker is in pairing mode, and glows steadily when a pairing is active.

Logitech Wonderboom 3 Controls: Detailed Descriptions of Each

The Power Control

First off, the Power button switches the unit ON and OFF. This control also contains an LED that shows power and battery status.

When the speaker is ON, and the battery has at least a little charge, this lamp glows solid white.

But when the battery falls to too-low status, this lamp glows solid  red.  This means that it’s time to put the BT speaker on the charge before it shuts off all the way.

Bluetooth Discovery Pairing Mode Control

Next, we have the Bluetooth discovery mode button, as highlighted in the next picture. This is the smaller of the two raised panel controls.

With the 3 turned on, press the  Bluetooth control for one to two seconds, then release.  This places the speaker into pairing / discovery mode. When in this mode, the speaker sends its name and other connection info over the BT radio spectrum. This allows nearby devices to find it and connect.

When speaker is in pairing mode, this control rapidly flashes white.  Then after the speaker connects, it stops flashing. The light then glows a steady white for several seconds.

This indicates that pairing was successful.  Then, it switches OFF to save battery power.  It then stays OFF as long as the wireless connection continues.

Note though that the pairing control does not light up unless the speaker actually pairs with a device.  Again, it only lights prior to pairing, in discovery mode, and for a brief time after you establish pairing.

Logitech Wonderboom 3 Controls: The Play / Pause Control

The Play / Pause  control is  not raised. But you can find its outline in the center of the speaker top as we show in the next photo.

Volume UP and DOWN Controls

The Logitech Wonderboom 3 has volume controls too.  What wireless speaker doesn’t?  Find these on the front.  These controls are shaped as large minus and plus symbols, They are cyan colored on our speaker.  They lower and raise the speaker loudness.

These controls never light up. Plus, the easiest places to press to get them to work, are in the centers of the controls. We picture these next.

The Reset Control Combination Code

The Power Status Lamp

This LED light is dark when the Logitech Wonderboom 3 is OFF and not charging.  When powered ON, the status lamp glows steady white no matter whether the speaker is paired or not. Plus, It pulsates a dim-to-bright-to-dim pattern as the speaker recharges. See above for this glow.

Logitech Wonderboom 3 Controls: The Outside / Outdoor Mode Control

Pressing and releasing this control once changes the speaker’s frequency response.  It boosts mid range frequencies while lowering the higher treble and lower bass ones.

Find this one on the bottom, in the center of the unit.

When outdoor mode is activated, this pushbutton lights up. This mode lets you hear the speaker better when far away from it. Furthermore, the reduced bass and high end response helps prolong battery life too.

To return the speaker to full audio response, press and release the control again.  The tree shaped lamp then goes off, and full response is then restored.

Logitech Wonderboom 3 Power Port Panel

The   USB Power   input port hides behind a sealed, flexible door. Find this on the back of the speaker, near its bottom.

You open this panel carefully, prying it open with a fingernail, coin, or other dull tool.  Avoid overly pointy prying objects. These can scratch the water seal around the flap edges, and thus destroy the water resistance.
