How to Tell Wonderboom 1 Battery

how to tell wonderboom 1 battery?  First, this unit has a two-color LED lamp on its top, in the Power button, as shown in the pictures next.  This light not only gives speaker power OFF ON and pairing status, but also tells battery level (whether it’s near dead or not) and charging status.  To see if the speakeris charging,  check this light.  We show how to read it next.

How to Tell Wonderboom 1 Battery: Step by Step

Connect the Wonderboom 1 to USB Power

Of course, you can rest with certitude that this UE is NOT charging with no charging cable plugged in.

Check the  Status / Power LED for One Way How to Tell Wonderboom 1 Battery Charge Amount

Whether this Ultimate Ears speaker is powered OFF or ON, you can tell if the unit is charging if it is connected to a charger, and the power lamp is lit white, and slowly brightening and dimming in a pulsating pattern.

When not connected to a charger, this light glows steady  red  when the battery has about run entirely out of power.  It glows solid white otherwise when the speaker is powered ON.  It is OFF when the speaker is OFF.

Should the speaker power lamp glow steady  red  with the power then it is not charging.  So you might verify that your USB cable, adapter charger, and power source are in working order.  Try a new USB adapter or another charge cord.  You want this light to be blinking white  to know for sure that this UE is charging.

Now, this unit does not warm appreciably as it charges.  But you can feel charger adapters you run it with.  If the charger warms, then it is delivering substantial current to the speaker.  Moderate charger heating is a near sure-fire way to tell if the UE Wonderboom 1 battery is indeed charging.

As charging nears completion, the status LED keeps flashing white.  But the Wonderboom 1 gives no more of a granular reading of just how far along its recharging is.  Not on the lamp anyhow. The power lamp just indicates that charging is indeed going on.  See the  white  glowing lamp in the last picture, pointed at by the green arrow.

When the Power LED Goes Off or Turns Solid White, Charging is Done

The battery charge cycle is finished when the power LED changes from  pulsating white to either OFF or solid, as shown in the next two pictures.

Even with the charger cord still plugged in, and when the Wonderboom 1 is powered down, this lamp stops glowing entirely when the internal battery is full, as shown next.  It no longer recharges when the battery reaches full charge condition.

Finally, Unplug the Wonderboom 1 and Turn it ON

If the power LED glows solid white as pictured above, this could mean that it did indeed charge when linked to external power, particularly if the speaker was dead or near dead before you plugged it in.  But with the USB cable disconnected, we cannot know just by reading the power LED, just how much this UE speaker actually recharged, only that it did charge some. It probably did recharge to full though, as long as we waited until the light stopped blinking before disconnecting the charger.
