An adequate Flip 5 JBL charger supplies at least 2.4 amps at 5 volts (14 watts or more). Note that currently, JBL does not include a compatible USB charger with this speaker. So, you’ll need to either have one already or buy one.
Also, the speaker has a USB-C charging port. So be sure to have the right USB-C cable on hand.
Furthermore, the maximum current this speaker accepts is 3 amps, and this gives the fastest charging performance. But to get that, you’ll need a charger with a USB-C output port, rather than the USB-A style connector. So we suggest that you get a USB C charger that can deliver 15 watts (5 volts at 3 amps). This gives the most rapid charging.
Which Flip 5 JBL Charger Works Best?
We’ve successfully charged our Flip 5 with the chargers, listed below. Note that all these chargers feature a USB A type female connector. So, you can use an AC adapter like these using the black USB-C cable that comes with the speaker. Or, if your charger only has a USB-C output port, you’ll need to get a USB-C to USB-C cable.

USB-C Chargers that Work Well with the Flip 5 JBL
This section is under construction while we get the following chargers into the shop here to test. But will mention them here along with links to more information about each one. In the meantime, this group of chargers can recharge the Flip 5 at the maximum power (15 watts). Plus none of these is very expensive. But for most of them, you will need a USB-C to USB-C cable to the Flip 5.

USB-A Chargers that Also Work Well with the Flip 5 JBL
1. Gearmo Ten Port USB Charging Station
This hefty household wall charging station delivers all the current you need for charging your Flip 5. It delivers full USB 2 power on each and every one of its ten output ports. This means that you won’t increase the speaker charging time when you charge more than one device on it. 2. CE Tech 4 Port USB Wall Charger
This CE Tech charging station is another beefy unit. It suits well recharging the Flip 5 JBL in nearly the shortest time. They make this charger well, and it is available on eBay for under thirty US dollars here. We’ve also reviewed this quad port charging system here.
3. Flip 5 JBL Charger: GE Jasco Y14 11307 USB Wall Charger
This charger is available at Amazon.com. See an equivalent charger’s product page at Amazon.com, here. At less than twelve dollars, this wall adapter is small enough to fit in any tech bag. It’s also great when you take your speaker on vacation, because it features a night light. Makes finding your way around strange hotel rooms a cinch. 4. JBL Charger for the Flip 5
