How to Bass Boost JBL Flip 5

You can change how loud the bass is on the JBL Flip 5 by turning on and off bass boost. When switched on, this mode makes the passive bass radiators on each side of the unit vibrate much more. So bass boost adds a low rumble quality to the playing program, that travels pretty far from the speaker.  So, for you boom lovers, this post shows how to bass boost this speaker, to get that extra umph.

How to Bass Boost JBL Flip 5: Turn it OFF

By default, this Flip 5 has bass boost mode ON after a reset.  This adds a bit of treble and lots of extra bass compared to when bass boost is OFF.

You can turn this bass boost OFF by pressing the Volume Down (-) and Bluetooth buttons.





Hold them in for about ten seconds, until the Power and Bluetooth buttons light up white.

How to Bass Boost JBL Flip 5: Turn it ON

To enable bass boost once more, again, do the same. Press the Volume Down and Bluetooth buttons. Then hold them in until the Power and Bluetooth buttons light white.  Then release.  When the buttons light white, bass boost has resumed once again.

Warning

The drivers really thump when you switch ON bass boost.  So be careful in how loudly you play the Flip 5 with the bass boost. This helps avoid damage to the  drivers. Indeed if the bass is crackling, tapping, or otherwise distorting, turn it down !
