You charge the JBL Boombox 2 Bluetooth speaker via the barrel style DC input port in the rear of the unit. And to get the quickest charge time and fullest charge when the JBL Boombox 2 runs low on juice, we suggest using the charger that comes with the speaker, or an equivalent. Details follow.
JBL Boombox 2 Charge Time: How Long to Fully Recharge
According to the specs for this speaker the time it takes to charge the speaker is six and a half (6.5) hours, using the 24 volt, 4.2 amp, 100.8 watt charger.

How Long it Plays Per Full Charge
On a complete charge, the Boombox 2 JBL speaker can play for up to twenty-four (24) hours, due to its 72.6 watt-hour lithium ion polymer battery. But when you play it loudly, especially with extra bass, you will see somewhat cut playing time. We’ve seen this Bluetooth speaker run dead in around eighteen hours when played at louder volumes. So to get the longest charge time from it, power saving is helpful. Just play it only as loudly as you need to, to hear it well throughout your listening space.

The Charge Time Gets Smaller as the JBL Boombox 2 Ages
If you own this speaker over a few to several years, you may notice that the time it plays from a single charge shrinks as the speaker gets older. This is normal for devices like this one, that rely on lithium ion polymer batteries.
But by exercising the battery, you can slow this charge capacity degradation.
To exercise the JBL Boombox 2, run the battery fully dead, and then recharge it again every three to six months when not in use.
Also, we advise that you avoid leaving the speaker plugged into a charger once it reaches full charge. Right after the charging lamp shuts off, unplug the speaker as soon as you can, to avoid overcharging it and aging the battery prematurely.
